ASSESSMENT OF UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN CURRENT ENGINEERING BUILDING AND NEW ADDITION

In early 2011, the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), in cooperation with Engineers Canada, embareked on a joint-funded project to assess the potential vulnerability of the Engineering Building to climate change. Associated Engineering (AE) was retained to conduct the ristk assessment and report on the impacts that future climate change may have on the existing engineering building as well as on a proposed building expansion.

The objective of this study was to identify the components of the existing building and proposed expansion that are at risk of failure, damage and/or deterioration from extreme climatic events or significant changes to baseline climate design values. This report was written to provide the University of Saskatchewan with information regarding the current infrastructure and planned upgrades that will be usable in planning and policy development exercises.
