CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS ON WATER AND WASTEWATER INFRASTRUCTURE AT MOOSE FACTORY

Moose Factory is a community on Moose Factory Island at the southern end of James Bay. A reserve belonging to the Moose Cree First Nation and with a population of 1,451 makes up the northern two-thirds of the island, while the Unorganized Cochrane District, with a population of 1,007, makes up the southern third of the island. This report presents the results of a climate risk assessment of Moose Factory’s water and wastewater infrastructure. It establishes a risk profile for the identified infrastructure, and provides recommendations regarding mitigating the risks with the highest consequences.
