PIEVC Program - International
The PIEVC Protocol has been recognized internationally as a reliable, practical approach for assessing the vulnerability of infrastructure to the potential impacts of climate change. With the assistance of Canadian infrastructure experts, the Protocol and related documents have been applied in Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Vietnam, and the countries of the Nile Basin. To facilitate international application, the Protocol and supporting documents have been translated into Spanish, Vietnamese and Portuguese.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in partnership with the Climate Risk Institute (CRI), lead the international component of the PIEVC Program. With the assistance of Canadian experts, the GIZ project “Enhancing Climate Services for Infrastructure Investments (CSI)” has applied the PIEVC Protocol in Brazil, Costa Rica, Vietnam and the Nile Basin.
Examples of international application of the PIEVC Protocol are provided below. Also provided are examples of PIEVC-related products developed by international partner organizations.
