Climate Risk Institute provides training on the PIEVC protocol in French and in English. The online PIEVC Course provides participants with information about, and practice with the PIEVC Protocol. The course is of interest to engineers and other professionals who are involved in policy, planning, procurement, pre-design, design, operation, maintenance, management, and regulation of infrastructure and who need to consider the changing climate for these activities.

The course is delivered through an online learning management system and consists of both self-directed and group sessions. The course includes presentations and exercises illustrating real-life applications and case studies, and is led by experienced engineers and climatologists.

Upon completion of the training participants will have an increased understanding of costs and liabilities related to public infrastructure as a result of climate change, an understanding of risk assessment and the PIEVC protocol, first-hand experience in developing strategies and recommendations to address infrastructure climate vulnerabilities, and a recognition of the benefits of a multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder team to address the complex risks to infrastructure.

The PIEVC course is one of six courses that comprise the Infrastructure Resilience Professional (IRP) Credential Program available to professional engineers.
